Hmmmm, I'll believe you just this once, hundreds wouldn't.i noticed that too it's not that dirty in real life honest i was surprised how it looked
Whoa..what's that huge antenna on the corner? Are you an operator?Oops it did it twice
Then by putting a piece of aluminium behind it improved the signal so I bought a Antenna which improved it some more. I’ve had connect to 5g but then it selects 4G the stronger signal

It’s a Vodafone antenna my Garage/unit is next to a mill with a mast I just happen to have access to the roofWhoa..what's that huge antenna on the corner? Are you an operator?![]()
this might be beyond my skills i'll have a go cheersHi Sonic,
as EssexBoy mentioned these Huawei CPE boxes are really very good still though they lack the ability to lock onto the newer 5G bands because they support just n78... Have been using mine for 5G main home internet for the last 2 years and it is pretty rock solid (I use a Smarty / Three unlimited SIM).
I do also have a (German T-Mobile) ZTE MC801A but for me it does not perform as well as the Huawei for speed and stability so I would not give up on it yet.
What you are probably seeing is it selecting a mast which is closer / stronger but which is not carrying the 5G ENDC bearer signal. I had this problem with a very old but nearer Band 3 only mast that kicked me off 5G on a slightly further mast so I did some work on a javascript utility that allows you to restrict the bands:
https://github.com/gazzasat/huawei-cpe
Filtering out the B3 but allowing B1+B28+B32 in the 4G options has nailed it firmly to the right mast and all is good.
If you can pin down what bands you are using when it does connect to 5G then hopefully the utility will give you some control to find the best combo
Should be pretty straightforward. The intel you need is the mast ID and bands connected in both the good throughput case and the poor case.this might be beyond my skills i'll have a go cheers
I hope this is facing North or that thing will bake and die.A little dirty at the top on this picture I’ll have to clean it. Unfortunately I only have 22.6 Mbps at the moment
I agree this is just for testing i'm hoping to move the router inside if it still works or shield it from the sunI hope this is facing North or that thing will bake and die.
what is the difference between a Zyxel NR5103E and non E?
Zyxel's have a 5G router which has different branding, who's name escapes me for now, is in fact identical to the NR5103E but it's very expensive.thank's that was quick
Hi the Zyxel has arrived today from CEX it is supposed to be unlocked but has a 3 sticker on it. Didn’t seem to work on Vodafone sim so I’ll try it on a 3 sim tomorrow. Could CEX have made a mistake? Is it easy to unlock?
