during placing your order, Openreach advised there is no spare copper line plant to your property and needs to go to survey to see what additional infrastructure is required to provide the service.

i had an look on the net and it looks like this can be long time to get setup? some have waited 5 moths for new line , the isp am going for is not with offcon so i do not get auto compensation
like zen , what do i do , do i cancel this isp and get zen and wait it out

am with talktalk going to Ghost Gamer Broadband , cuz i waned the log pings

i do not know why ghost can not just use the same line i got atm with talktalk duno why i need new one am all new to this if you have any info

TalkTalk line is normally on a LLU connection so should be BT to exchange then talktalk equipment. To bring this back to use ISP's that use Openreach network you have to bring the line back some ISPs charge for new line to bring this line back to Openreach. You should be able to arrange a line transfer from TalkTalk so you do use your present line. If they fitting a complete new line leaving your old connection live with talktalk you will end up paying for two connections. Tell Ghost Gamer you want them to do a telephone line transfer from talktalk keeping your telephone number it can be done.

I am curious about why the decision to change ISP just to log the Pings? Surely running Wireshark tells you what you need to know?

I am always wary of any ISP who claims their network is 'optimised for gaming' since they have no control of the Peers and Gaming servers the only thing they can really 'improve' is how quickly the traffic transits their own network.

For ultimate Latency I have found FTTP reduces the time to between 2ms and 5ms compared to between 20ms and 150ms over FTTC and ADLS (also dependent on where the servers are you are connecting to
