IDnet look like a good option

EDIT: Sorry.. i changed the title because it turns out i made a mistake and to leave it the way it was would have been a little misleading. I will leave the body of my text however, as to change it now would render the following posts confusing.

NB: IDnet Terms said all along that only those in Annual contracts would have to pay their balance in full on leaving before 12 months was up. My mistake to say that they didnt. /EDIT
----------------------------

Well, im impressed. After reading up on IDnet and paying close attention to their T&C's (who wouldnt after being stung by a company called Fast4 who have very misleading claims and hidden small print) I found only one small part that i wanted clarification on.

Relating to payment of 12 months term upon wishing to migrate away to another company before 12 months are up. (currently Fast4 charge £85 for this, though they claim they do not charge for connections)
Their terms simply didnt clarify that this only related to business customers who were in fact tied, naturally enough, to a 12 month contract. As i guessed, it didnt apply to residential customers.

I simply made comment about this on their customer forum and someone within minutes said that they would mention it to the MD's....and lo and behold i just looked at their Terms again and they have amended them to clarify exactly what i suggested.

Top marks guys, cheers. Things like that go a long way to gaining faith and confidence and its something that all ISP's should be aiming towards.

Everything looks good, packagewise etc, 1 month contract, no migration out fees...this just tipped the scales. Looking forward to migrating across to you guys as soon as i can. No more cheap and nasty ISP's for me. Remember, cheap does not equal value.

Cheers

IDNet customers sometimes get labelled fanboys. However, the reason we're so attached to our ISP is something that you've just discovered. Of course, they do offer a fast, reliable service with excellent support, but they also listen closely to their customers and try to respond to their concerns. It becomes a very personal relationship, and one which it is hard not to enthuse about. :)

I can't find any difference in their T&Cs

Just diffed them to a copy from 22nd sept and nothing seems to have changed.

They were quite clear that payment of the 12 month term applied to annual contracts.

Also I've just checked some of the business packages and they stated one month contract too.:)

The SDSL packages are 12 month contracts, I think BTWholesale have a minimum 12 month term on SDSL.

...i dont know what to say then.. You are indeed right Mel, that the cached 22/9/07 version hasnt changed. What i looked at a couple of days ago im almost positive didnt mention the annual part, but i didnt take a copy at the time. I could simply be totally wrong, but i dont know why i would have queried only that part from their whole contract. I dont know if Rikbean checked after i pointed it out, or if he just took my word for it. hmm, ah well, ill put it down to my mistake then but i must be loosing it if so.

rolf omg yer right mate.. damnit all.

Super sleuth work. Sadly it means i have lost a few marbles along with my broadband speeds. :o

EDIT:

Argh, what i think it was is that i wasnt sure what they meant by the annual contract.. since Fast4 claim 1 month contract but in reality its 12 months exit fee..i think thats why i got confused.

ive edited the title and noted my mistake in first post now, thanks. Ahh i cant change the actual thread title.. maybe a mod could please, to what i made the title of my 1st post. Cheers

I checked the first time, felt (as I explained) that there wasn't an issue, but passed it on to Tim to look again at the form of words. When you said it had been changed, I did take your word for it. :o
