IE users warned to change browsers

A serious flaw in the security in Internet Explorer has been found.

Computer users are advised to switch to an alternative internet browser, such as FireFox or Google Chrome

yeah and microsoft itself has said not to change and that they will fix it soon.. they just cant take it that other browsers might benefit from this fiasco :p

good thing l only use firefox... only time IE comes into play is when lm forced to do windows updates etc.

Micromoneygrabbers made IE, so someone finding a security hole in it is like finding Mexicans in Mexico. To be fair they did make IE7 a lot better than IE6, that was like a big house full of goodies being located in a dodgy neighbourhood with no front door. But I can't imagine that IE will ever be as good or better than alternative browsers like Firefox etc. Having said that, I'm sure Firefox and others must get their security issues, but they don't seem to be as glaring as any problems with IE.

I use Firefox, only time I use IE7 when I have to.

I got tired of Firefox's slow loading and switched to Opera, all has been well since, though Opera's HTML/CSS rendering still doesn't display some page elements as they're supposed to. Speaking of which, that update mentioned above has just popped up..

I find Firefox loads my home page in 3 seconds & IE takes 4 seconds.
Also I have a few plugins & rss feeds in Firefox & IE is just bare-bones.

personally, l prefer security over speed.. whats a few seconds between browsers at least most of us dont have to resort to dialup all the time.

Also be warned, if you try to update Google Earth, the new "Update Installer" program will also install Chrome, whether you want it or not!!
