I was thinking today, wouldnt an electronic calender be good?

I use yahoo's calender, its quite good as are most the online ones with email.

However, you have to start a computer, and log in. And its also not usually in a good place (like on the fridge, wall etc).

Now, wouldnt a thin, touchscreen calender be a good idea?

9" maybe more screen, that on a touch lights up and displays today, or the month, or the week. User configurable of course.

And why not incorperate syncing? Over bluetooth, or perhaps wireles or both. Sync with the most popular calender clients, outlook, and the various phone OS's.

I know you could build one yourself, but an all in one would be much smaller.

Anyone else think of good things to have?

basically it does all things my mobile does :D thats my calendar.. however it would be nice to have something to backup my mobile to via blue tooth or something that wasnt as much of a chore to do than connect the thing to my comp.

Thats what I also use, as well as the yahoo one. However, I think theres a market for a large, clear touchscreen display that can be put on a wall, or fridge etc. Especially if it can sync with the other devices.

A lot of people (including me) miss the ease of a calender on the wall, but need it in electronic form for various reasons.

You could have profiles. A general family one, and individual ones, because not all birthdays and appointments are useful for everyone to see. You could do all sorts.

Much more useful than that silly photo slideshow device.

I agree, but theres nothig to stop you form being able to add backgrounds/screensavers to it :D

If I had the knowlage, Id make one.

l guess in short to do something like this you would need something simular to a tablet PC but more specialised, l suppose the upside tho is you wouldnt need to get a new one every year..

altho in retrospect this may hold some possibilities for something of the sort in the future... see link: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/ lm sure some of us tho have seen this or at least heard it in passing.. altho its a MS product it still looks kinda interesting.

How about having a bog standard paper calender on the wall. And a mobile phone that when you take a photo of the calendar, it uses AI to convert all the scribbled appointments into an electronic format. That way you'd get the best of both worlds.

You'd also not have to install a power socket where you want the calendar, or be forever spending a fortune on batteries, and it wouldn't be the end of your world if the calender crashed or packed up and lost all your appointments.

Oh dear! my low e-score is showing  :D

equally calendars can be annoying.. like the one we popped on the wall and the cat destroyed.. things do happen :p
