IPv6 on Vodafone

I'm seeing some reports of Vodafone Broadband customers getting an actual IPv6 address over the past few days, but not yet enough feedback to confirm. Anybody here got one?

Left my router off for a while to make sure I got a new IP Address when putting it back on this morning and still being assigned IPv4 addresses (Vodafone via Openreach FTTC). So it's definitely not yet been rolled out as standard to everyone if this is a thing now.

Seems to be a very limited trial, even though they won't confirm anything officially.

My new Vodafone 900 install shows I've got a Ipv6 .

Is it on the front page of the router under the IP4 address? a hexadecimal config? if so yes.
Has speed issues and below guarantee, said updated router and it was there as well as few settings going in expert mode as well.

Went FTTP from FTTC week and a bit ago

When I first received the service, it was active as ipv4 and ipv6 dynamic ip with its own router. then I switched to my own router and asked for fixed ip4, then when I asked, they stated that they would not provide ipv6 ip at the same time. digital telephone service is only active if we use the router they provide. In order to use the telephone service and our own router at the same time (double NAT), we need to use both routers.

I'm a new customer on Cityfibre, 900mbit package. My service activated yesterday and I do not have IPv6!
Moreover, I am getting routed via Edinburgh - which makes my ping average around 20-30 in gaming... Lovely...
Will most likely cancel the contract again

20-30 ping shouldn’t impact your gaming 💀
Why did most of my racing games show me low latency warnings during tests today then? 20 pings when I run speedtests... they might be higher if I connect to game servers in Europe if my connection first goes in the wrong direction (towards Scotland)

So how does it impact your gaming?

It technically shouldn’t, unless you missed a 0 off both those numbers.

If you look online, there are a couple of people who also suffer jitter and packet loss because of these routing issues... And in competitive gaming every ms counts... Will test the gaming performance more thoroughly over the weekend... The price is sadly very good and I don't want to have an ugly CF box on my wall for no reason

Not a VF customer but that's good. I regularly cope with the pings from mobile data online and I don't notice a major issue, granted that I'm not competitive or anything.

couple? you means hundreds lol.

as i said early VF has no interested in fixing this, they don't care and its not a major issue for most people, just ping nerds like me maybe. XD

You’ve still not answered my question on your experience not other people’s.

O2 mobile is great for me, most people I know say it’s very poor… I’m not ending my contract cuz those people said it’s poor.

😐

I can definitely tell that pings are around 10ms higher on Vodafone/CF FTTP (16-23ms to a server in my hometown) vs. my old BT/OR FTTP (7-11ms to a server in my hometown) connection... That's clearly because they are routing me via a Scottish Gateway... Power cycling didn't help here...
Do I feel a difference? Speeds are the same (uploads are better), and in gaming you do get bad connection warnings more often (e.g., in F1 23), and pings are generally higher (as my connection has to go up north, before it goes back down via London to continental Europe where more gaming servers are located)... That can often make a difference between decent pings (around 20-30) and not so decent pings (around 30-40).
I even thought my Openreach pings were pretty high for an FTTP connection... but I guess that's just something you need to live with if you're outside of London... Used to have better cable broadband pings back in 2008 in Germany...
