IPv6

Yes of course it does, if the underlying IP connection is IPv6 then Private relay uses IPv6, if it's IPv4 then Private relay uses IPv4 ...
I've had test-ipv6.com give 10/10 results on a IPV4 comnection through a mobile hotspot. It's not always accurate.

As previously mentioned, Google announced way back when (roughly the same period when Chrome started preferring IPv6 over IPv4) that Android will never support DHCPv6 as it's largely redundant, and especially so on mobile phone networks with billions of users...

The thread you linked provides no proof otherwise, just a bunch of people venting about the lack of support..
I see, yeah just had a look its a rant thread, thanks for correcting me.

So you're claiming a site dedicated to reporting IPv6 reports IPv4 passing all the tests correctly?

You'll need to provide some evidence to back up that claim plus contact the developer and report a bug as it's been rock solid for as long as I've known of the site.

From the FAQ

Q: Why is this web site reachable via IPv4 only?

You're right, there are no AAAA records, intentionally. A percentage of users are unable to browse sites that are dual-stack. If the users can't connect, then they can't be told they have a problem. This is a big problem facing content providers today; of which, I work at one for my $dayjob. As such, the main test page requires IPv4 (either native or translated).

At some point, when the percentage of "broken" users has gone significantly down, I'll consider making test-ipv6.com dual-stack. At last check, March 2017, we still see 0.2% broken visiting test-ipv6.com. And we still want them to understand their situation.

I have now got IPV6 on my phone (the one listed on my signature). Don't know how long i've got it for but not withn the last three months. Sadly not available on mobile hotspot

Could be a sign of some sort of rollout so check your phones again!

@Mark.J this might be something you're interested in as you recently bought up O2's IPV6 functionality on another thread.

I had IPV6 on my S23+ last month.
I noticed it would only get IPV6 when first connecting to POWs and upgraded masts.
It didn't like to Acquire ipv6 on older 4G and 3G only sites, Which I spent some time near.

They've removed my ipv6 now, maybe because I went out of their Super sexy Ericsson trial zone.

Yeah, it doesn't work on 3G

I have IPv6 everywhere i've travelled on three with an iphone 13 so long as there is 4G or 5G available, it's also IPv6-only with NAT64 and has been since at least early 2022. But only on the handset itself, tethering does not work.

The he.net "network tools" app is useful for showing the addresses assigned to the various interfaces on the device. The first pdp interface is the main data, and the second one is typically used for VoLTE and both are usually v6-only.

Occasionally it will downgrade to IPv4, usually if i've been in an area with poor signal strength and requires flipping into flight mode and back to get it to reconnect to v6. I tend to notice this pretty quick because some of the services i connect to are v6-only, but other users might not notice since most dual stack services will automatically fall back.

If i swap the simcard into an iphone 8 or an old oneplus2 android phone i don't get IPv6 despite using the same APN and explicitly enabling v6 on the android device. My colleague who also has an iphone 13 does not get IPv6 for some reason, we were sat next to each other comparing. When we were both in the same location i also got consistently lower latency and higher throughput on speedtests than he did.

EE is more consistent, you get both local data and tethering with v6 and it seems to work on any device i've tried.
