Is AOL reliable?

I currently subscribe to AOL Broadband Silver (BYOA) but connect to the internet using Kingston Communications in Hull.

It's costing me quite a bit, the 750 package (uncapped) I'm on costs £27.98 a month plus the £6.99 AOL charge for piggy backing.

I'm thinking about having my bt line reconnected as it will be ADSL enabled on 01/06/05, but don't want to do this if the service isn't any good. I love Radio@AOL and overall it seems the most complete package of facilities.

Does anyone have any feedback that'll help me decide.

Cheers

Andy

I would recommend AOL to people who want an uncapped service with no outages. However, I do have concerns nowadays about their Customer Service - outside the UK.

Although there is no adsl setup fee and the modem is free, you will sign up to a 12 mths contract - Something not many people like the thought of!

I use AOL via BYOA and would echo that of Richard, great service but the decision to send support to India is kinda crappy.

Another one here that finds AOL reliable but a crappy support (from India really)

I have been with them for a few years now and only once lost couple of days connections, and that was due to BT scruing my line while doing some repairs.

It's not the fastest though and it's at it best without that terrible AOL browser.

AOL and Gaming LOL!!!! Prob not its best feature. Does anyone know if you can dial a number to get through to AOl Irish support rather than India?
