I want to migrate from firefly, cos despite their (albeit old) top 10 review, they've been completely crap since the day I joined!! Well as I'm after a laptop can anyone tell me if AOL are worth it? Thanks

Hi,

Nothing is free in this day and age. You would be a lot better off buying a laptop and joining a good ISP rather then getting tied up too a long contract with AOL.

Hope this helps.

Paul.

Don't forget to add a review for Firefly if you didn't like them (need to register), otherwise nobody can learn from your experience. If you're thinking of moving then O2 (Be Broadband), IDNet, Zen, Fast.co.uk and Sky Broadband are some of the better choices around.

like others have said, you would be better off buying the lappy and signing up to a decent broadband provider. Although it maybe a more expensive at the start it will probably be cheaper and less hassle in the long run.

The laptop is cack - it's running Vista Home basic, which is just a slower version of XP without any of the bells and whistles that improve (theoretically!) Vista

You will be signing up to a long contract with AOL and their hellish software and less than stellar performance (admittedly, they aren't the worst either)

nononononononononono. Don't do it.

Just..... Don't do it!

Hmm, well I'm not too bothered about the contract side of things, wot worries me most is the laptop being crap sideof things, perhaps I'll stay away then.

And don't worry, I'll be doing an AWFUL review about firefly as the ******** have cut my download speed to next to nothing since requesting a MAC code!!!!

You can buy 2 not very good but rather special one-hundred-dollar laptops for about £400 on eBay and only get one, if you hurry.
