Yes it really is unlimited, I was on it for years for my home broadband, never any speed caps either.Interesting conversation in the local Three store today - the sales guy told me that, unlike Three, Smarty's unlimited data plan throttles your speed once you've gone past 200mb. This is contrary to what it says on Smarty's pages.
True or false I wonder?
Yeh smarty and iD are both totally unlimited.I think Smarty is unlimited. However, I doubt anyone can reach the FUP (e.g. 800GB per month) unless they are doing endless torrenting xDView attachment 20282

He's chatting sh!t to get you to sign up to 3.Interesting conversation in the local Three store today - the sales guy told me that, unlike Three, Smarty's unlimited data plan throttles your speed once you've gone past 200mb. This is contrary to what it says on Smarty's pages.

From what I have seen others doing, you should have no problems at all!So if I get the Smarty unlimited deal, unlimited calls and texts currently at £15 a month, monthly contract ...can I put that SIM into my 3, ZTE router just used for home broadband, not making any calls with it?
I'm asking because the Smarty Data only deal is £20, so £5 a month more...so £60 a year more?
I'm therefore worried that the regular, unlimited phone SIM will not work in my home router? Anyone done it?
You can get £12 cashback too with Top Cashback...so long as you use the new SIM for at least 2 months.
That's great. So now I have to cancel my direct debit with 3. I am out of contract but I believe you still have to give 30 days notice, so I guess I will end up paying for 2 contracts for the first month :-(From what I have seen others doing, you should have no problems at all!
Easiest way is to get the Smarty SIM, then request a STAC code from 3, give it to smarty they will cancel it for you,Then 3 will issue you with a final bill. That's great. Yes I got a PAC (not STAC) code from 3. Then I went online to get my Smarty deal but when I put in the PAC code it must have recognised my old number was data only, because the price then went up to £20 a month! I'm guessing I will have to get the Smarty deal up and running and then just cancel the 3 deal....but then you have to pay them for 30 more days. Thanks for the advice. Yes, I read somewhere that if you use a STAC code then your new provider will terminate the old provider contract and you then do not have to pay the month notice period. So you don't get the double payment nonsense, as long as you are out of contract...which I am. Looks like I will take your advice, ie get the Smarty card, check it all works (should do...same network as 3 right?) and then I will ask for a STAC code, I don't need to keep the number, then give the STAC to Smarty for them to contact 3.
