Is Smarty Unlimited truly unlimited?

No I have fibre available and had it for many years Nomader.

My fibre speeds were around the 50 mark which was fine.

One day I thought I'd just try 4G to see what speeds I woulld get.

To my surprise I got 90-130 with three, all the other networks were pants, so as soon as my fibre contract was up, I got the first of about 6 Huawei routers.(So far)

CPE Pro 3 next? :LOL::rolleyes:

Being a cheapskate, I was delighted, getting speeds of nearly double my fibre for a lot cheaper.

Unfortunately for me, three got slower and slower and I ended up with speeds of around 10-15 after around 18 months of my 2 year contract.

Due to over subscription I assumed.

I decided to cancel three and tried Vodafone, which was a little faster.

After a little while I thought I'd try three again via Smarty and speeds had improved a little to 30, so here I am, and quite happy with 30 as my 4K streaming works again.

Don't think I'll ever enter into a lengthy contract again as I always buy my mobile outright anyway and it always annoyed me the anual increase in price you get, so what's the point of a 12 or 18 months sim only contract?

So far I'm absolutely delighted with Smarty and intend to stay with it because as you know I'm getting a new three pole of wonder coming up soon, so hopefully that will improve things for me even more.🤞

I'm moving my mobile contract over to Smarty too on Wednesday, so that will be handy.

Dear me what a long rant, sorry about that Nomader, but you did ask. 😊
With the data you’ve been hammering, is any of this toward online gaming?

Me and the chain seldom play online, but we get FTTP through Sky which is sufficient 145/25, ping is 10ms every time.

Curious if going mobile broadband would be worth the switch, or just maintain the FTTP when we do move north east.

Hi Carl01460, I do have a Series X but never play online, just do the crazy big game updates that seem to come out every day.

Unfortunately my ping is top 30's so you got me on that one. 😊

I think anything under 50ms is suitable for gaming (might be wrong, could’ve been 100ms), but with smarty we would actually be halving our monthly broadband cost.

Few locations we have scouted have been 5g coverage areas in the majority, or not too distant from a b32 which is fine.

Guess will have to test it all when we move up in a few months.

Yes, exciting times ahead, hopefully not too far away. 😊

Looks like I won;t get the full benefit after all. My contract is up for renewal as of 12th September but there's a 30 day notice period. Oh well, the £15 credit will pay for the interim month.

Great speeds on 3 at my house but the "management" says BT and that's final. Its religious at this point and I hate it.

Aw, there's always something eccles. :(

Not a problem. My other three account is PAYG so I can stick the current sim in the phone for a month until it runs out. It'll get used. :)

This is a strange one, after telling me yesterday my plan resets today, it's now telling me that my plan resets today lol.

I wonder why it didn't just tell me today that my plan resets tomorrow.

I did activate my sim on the 1st, so that will keep my OCD weirdness happy I guess. 😊

I have 4 three contracts set in my house all to renew on the 17th as if its all spread across the month it messes up my bank statements 🤣. First few months i kept getting calls from natwest telling me there were unauthorized payments but once they finally figured it, we were smooth sailing.

A glitch in the matrix, no doubt. They're on to you..
