Is there some way I can convince community fibre to rollout their service to a small number of houses (15) on private land?
Community fibre has deployed fibre down the street the private land is just off to an underground chamber near the BT cabinet. BIDB showed the street but not our houses were due to get Community Fibre before they paused their rollout. At its closest point the fibre passes just 3 m away from our land with the underground chamber about 300 m away.
As far as I know all the houses are ducted; in theory as they are terraced houses you could lay fibre along a wall and then along the houses without using the ducts on our land treating the houses more like a block of flats though I don’t know if this is viable.
Our internet speed is going on for more than a decade without a speed increase and there are potentially some big cost savings from getting community fibre too. Its frustrating that fibre seems so close and yet there is a long uncertain wait for it to actually be laid to our houses.
