Is this a fair deal? HELP

With pipex for 2 years Last few months on a 2mb uncapped connection. Wanted to leave them due to cost and higher ping than plusnet. Pipex rang me and after much discussion offered to lower price to 14.99 with a 15GB capped service but on a 12 month contract. The capp does not worry me but will the speed be slowed down etc? Am I missing something or is this a good deal?

£14.99 sounds good but what would hold me back is starting another 12 month contract.. This is not needed you have been loyal for 2 yrs they should allow you to move over and move to monthly contract like NTL have with us.

I have asked to change my connection speeds twice since I completed my 12 month contract and NTL have changed it once and I was only monthly after the initial 12months.

i would NEVER sign up for a 12 month contract, you never know whats round the corner ;)

Yeah, I'm not entireley sure why they're putting you on a twelve month contract either, sounds like an overley aggresive customer retention tactic. It should be a simple account downgrade, your best bet is to ring customer services, mention nothing about their phone call (most call centre agents don't check previous call logs at the start of a call) and see what they can offer you. If they don't mention anything like contract renewal, you know they're stringing you along.
