Just gold pen, used for both copper and fibre joints. That is fibre, but as Mark says, it could be either leased line fibre or part of a core route.
Not sure if it's just the photo, but the writing looks white which is unusual because white on OR kit generally denotes copper infrastructure and yellow is normally used for fibre.
Just a fibre node but doesn’t necessarily mean fibre is available to you, might just be a “joint” on a long run of overhead fibre cable or where the underground and overhead fibre cable transitions. The conversation would be different if there was a CBT (connectorised block terminal) on top of the pole that serves your copper line.At the bottom of my driveway ... Openreach say 'no plans to upgrade ...'
Confirmed leased line. Rather him than me at £500 a month!Ah, leased line makes sense. Bloke next door is a prop trader stuck at home so possibly his firm ponied up for a line.
I’ll quiz him on it tomorrow. Back to the community fibre then!
Every copper joint I've seen in our area has been white pen and/or white tape.Just gold pen, used for both copper and fibre joints.
No such thing as white for copper, but yes yellow tape is used for fibre COF cable in accessible boxes/poles to denote that the black looking cable is a fibre one to the untrained eye.
