I want to upgrade our account with Gigaclear and have them replace the original router they supplied, a Genexis DRG 700/7000 with their Linksys Velop.
However they tell me that they would not replace but leave the old Genexis in place on the living room wall and "bridge" ????? to the Linkys with an ethernet cable.
"Please note we would not have to remover your Genexis router, as we would disable it as a router, which we call a Bridge. Effectively it just becomes an inlet for your Broadband and through a Ethernet Cable connects to the new Lynksys Velop router and this provides you connection and with Wi-Fi."
The whole idea of wifi was to do away with wires and I do not what two boxes fastened to the wall.
Does it have to be done this way, can they not just simply remove the Genexis and link their optic cable to the Linksys in its place ?
Any thoughts appreciated
