Is Three still giving real IP addresses?

Hi,
I use Smarty at home, originally I didn't want to sign up for any more than a month by month contract, however we've been using it as our main Internet connection for over two years so I am more confident now.

The only thing bugging me is the CGNAT or more precisely the way they have recently started changing the IP address almost on a second by second basis. Some applications really don't like that, for example Paypal or Ebay.

So if Three is still giving out real IP addresses, it would be worth taking a 12 month contract I think. Especially if I can grab one of the special offers that crop up from time to time.

Does everyone find the get real IP, or so some people find they can't escape the CGNAT?

Thanks, Tony S

on the 3internet APN you do (Though it changes every time you disconnect and reconnect to your mast), on the three.co.uk APN you get CGNAT.

Thanks. I think I need to do this. So I'll grab the next special offer I see, and if it doesn't work I can invoke the 14 day return.

One oddity is that I'm using a Three connection full time, but at an address where Three says there's no 4G service. That was one of the reasons for avoiding a contract, after all if it fails I can't really report that as a fault - "4G not working a location where you say it doesn't work"

They have recently upgraded their coverage maps so it may be worthwhile having a look if it has changed, or they’ve potentially reframed their 3G coverage for 4G in your location which is why you get the coverage you do today.

Right that's a Three SIM in place now, and giving a real IP address as hoped. Let's see if it reduces some of the crap from Paypal and other sites etc. Worst case it's saving £2.75 per month.
