Just my view on this.
The prices they are offering for the new customers are what Plusnet have been offering me when I look at what offers are available for me.
Not putting the price increase on the front page is not good, people need to know these things, sadly plusnet is not the only one doing it.

I am experiencing something similar. I am a Plusnet customer. Was in contract until August 23. Was on FTTC but wanted to switch to FTTP. I was aware of the price rise so factored in. And of course staying with Plusnet and upgrading mid-contract meant I was never going to get the best price. However, sure enough I have been on FTTP for just over week to get an email to advise of price rise in March.
Very different if your trying to deliberately cut costs, find that on the face of it Plusnet is the best offer. Lock in for 2 years. 1 months later find that you are paying a lot more than you were and in 12 months time it will only go up again.

I am lucky in that my contract ends at the end of June, so I don't have to renew yet and even after the March price rise I only have 3 to 4 months at the higher price depending on how fast I move if I decide not to recontract and go with any provider. Not really fussed about FTTP to be honest, but will see what happens as i get closer to the end of the contract.
But providers really need to put the price rise in big text instead of hiding it

The whole mid contract price rise is a mess and should be banned by Ofcom. Consider a new customer that buys a new service in March but gets hit by a rise in April. With another customer that buys the new service in April and doesn't get hit by the increase. Assuming new customer prices remained the same, as it is common for providers to do, how can a newer customer end up paying less than an older customer? Inflation usually is positive not negative.

Then consider the case of two customers buying the same product for the same price and being hit by a rise at different times of their contract. Overall the total cost of the service over the duration of the contract will be different. How can customers buying the same product for the same price at different times end up paying different amounts in total?
Some ISPs have T&Cs for new customers buying within a few months of April not having price increases but it's not consistent nor clearly displayed.

The Altnet we have here Zzoomm is not increasing prices, in fact they have lowered them, well kind of. Their old offer was six free months and then their normal price of £33 a month over 24 months, that was for the 150/150 package. now they are offering £19.99 a month for 3 months and then £29.95 a month but only a 12 month contract.
So while it works out more expensive over 24 months compared to the offer they had, I think this is their normal pricing now, so their normal monthly price is cheaper than it was. The one good thing is a 12-month contract, you don't get that very often these days and if you do, you end up paying a fortune.
When i first read the advert, new plans, new prices, broadband from £19.95, I thought maybe they decided to bring a lower speed, lower price package out, but they did not, which is a bit of a shame. I may have paid £20 a month for a 75Mb/s package.

With the cost of living the way it is,I am more bothered about getting my broadband cheaper than super-duper high speeds I am never going to make use of, which is as I have said before, I am fine with 36Mb/s
