ISPR Forums Slow Tonight?

Same as before. Just ignore it. Can probably expect a few more of those. I will prep the CDN again if needed.

I keep getting intermittent error messages today! :o

Used it couple of times today, was fine both times, although I have had some slowness on other sites.

Still getting slow page loads sometimes, very random and nothing to do with my connection...

Seems to be working just fine here - even after the performance of the network here has deteriorated a little bit in the past few days. (i.e used to get a fairly stable 18/19mbps down but now it's 12-15mbps, nothing has changed with even the admin panel suggesting up to 22mbps maximum download or 21818kbps - 21.8mbps)

It's probably the routing from Airband to the website's host, just letting Mark know :)

Seems a little slow for me to move between threads post etc, been like that for an hour or so now. No errors, just slow.
I suspect that may have been an issue with the remote database side of things, as the server itself was functioning normally last night.

@Mobyle I do hear you on that. I've been trying different ad networks over the past two years and experiences have been mixed, although actually being able to speak with support teams has been a refreshing novelty (Google's own network provides zero assistance or care for their clients). But I may go back to Google next year, once our current contract is up, as their network is much faster and not as in-your-face.

@Mark.J is there any chance of introducing a subscription based model for the forum, advert driven or pay a monthly fee to hide ads?

Probably one for the suggestion box but with Mac Rumours if you save their link as an ‘app’ on your phone offers push notifications.

I prefer to keep subscription models away from ISPreview, but will explore the idea of such a choice when I get some time in the future. But handling anything payment related creates other legal and technical complications that may not be worth the hassle.

I should point out that forum members already see fewer ads than guests, which is a feature of how I've set it up. A bit experimental, but I may soon expand that to remove more ads on the forum for members.

You could just ask for donations.

Probably the wrong place to suggest, but maybe trialling say 5-10 or 20 minute ads in one go to get like, 1-2-3h free of ads?

(I'm not sure what Google/YouTube was doing with theirs, but they had something like this as a trial for some people)

(Also, site is still a little slow for me) - it could be down to O2 maintenance in the area that was planned.
