Just moved to Zen from BT

Last Thursday I moved from BT's Full Fibre 500 to Zen's Full Fibre 900 because Zen is easier to contact, has an excellent Trustpilot rating, is about £10 cheaper than what I would have been paying BT (so worthwhile terminating well before my contact was due to end in December) and no mid-contract price rises. The only issue I have had is that my ASUS RT-AX88U router would only provide about half, or sometimes much less than half the download speed with Zen, whereas I got the full 500 Mb/s with BT. As a result, I have decided to use the supplied FRITZ!Box 7530 AX router, which does give me the full download speed. What I wanted to know is whether anyone using the FRITZ!box has managed to fathom out how to set up a VPN server on the router. The AVM instructions are much more complicated than I have been used to with the ASUS router and one of their articles suggests setting it up with Wireguard as it's supposed to be more simple. However, I get stuck where it says to go the the VPN (Wireguard) tab in the FRITZ!Box GUI as I only see a tab named VPN and not VPN (Wireguard). Could it be that the Wireguard option is not available with the 7530 AX model?

That does appear to be the case. If you go to the 7530 help page for VPN:-
you will see the instructions for setting up IPSec and WireGuard VPN. If you change the device to the 7530AX (blue box top right), the WireGuard section disappears.

For what it's worth, though, I use the IPSec VPN on a 7530 (not AX) from an Android device and it works well enough. I followed guidance on those help pages, so it can be done!

I'm using wireguard with my Zen supplied Fritzbox. If you upgrade the router firmware to the latest version (I joined Zen last month and the firmware was not up to date), you should get the wireguard tab.
