Three unlimited data sim on its way.
Per the excellent Phonehouse refund deal

Full signal Three 5g here, as tested with 5g sim/phone.

Now looking at availability of routers on CEX.
Recommended here so far: Zyxel NR5103E.
But others available:
Zyxel NR5103EV2
ZTE MC888 5G
ZTE MC801A 5G
Zyxel NR5103E 5G

Which to choose?

NR5103E (V1) X4, so there's enough plastic for the Christmas lights.(y)😊

Seriously though, I've had mine for a billion years now without any problems Mick2me. :)

Different opinion, I had the MCA801A with Three and the best thing was the ability to cell lock but removing the cell lock required a full reset.

I've now moved onto the V2 today from Cex and it's also pretty decent. No cell lock but band lock is working fine.

An extra £20 for 'Zyxel NR5103E 5G Dual Band Indoor WIFI Router, Unlocked'
Can anyone unlock them? If they are unlocked do they operate as set up for Three?

All NR5103E Three branded routers are unlocked Mick2me, it's just that some listings state 'unlocked' so they can charge a 'little extra' to potential buyers who are none the wiser. 🙄

Never bought from CEX before.
Chose collection from store but it asked if I would except home delivery if not available for collection? I added this option and my address but it did not add delivery charge?. Does this mean that if store pickup is not available delivery is free?

Shhh! Never mention the 'C' word till November be out.
The piccy is from last year though Mick2me, so it doesn't really count. :giggle:

Yes.
It means their stock checker thinks there is one of these routers in stock at your chosen store. Wait for confirmatino to say that the item is ready for collection before you go to the store.

If during stock picking they can't find the item instore, or find it isn't in a suitable condition to be sold then they will cancel the collection and send your order to another store who has stock and they will deliver to your home address for no extra cost.

I'm intrigued. Why is the V2 version cheaper than the V1?
Technically it's a cut down version of the V1.
Smaller antennas, slower ethernet speeds.
Perhaps demand for V1's is still greater. 🤷‍♂️
Oh and most damning of all, it doesn't look like a soap dispenser. ;) 😊

NR5103E collected from CEX
Router and power supply only, no box or documents.
Cover missing from antennas.

Tested with Three sim disappointing results so far.
Maybe needs setup?

Try it absolutely everywhere Mick2me, I get best results in a corner of the Living Room, near windows is slower for me strangely enough, also moving or turning the router even a just few mm can make all the difference.

Best of luck. :)

tried it in various places still only getting around 50mbs
Reset button pressed and tried again, same?
Is there anyway you can see signal level change, or that you are getting 5g not 4g?
Is that on the screen shot attached?

Was getting 50mb on laptop, now tried phone getting 405mb d/l connected to NR5103E?

Both tests via Oookla

Cellular info will tell you the bands. You'll have the B three equivalent and most likely N78.

Network settings > Broadband > Cellular Band - here you can change bands.

What phone are you using? If android download any of the network apps to see what band your phone is connecting to and try and then get the router to lock onto such a band.

You may have to try combinations of bands to get it to achieve good speeds. For me B1 and B7 work best, otherwise auto mode tries silly masts and I get horrible download speeds.
