Kicked Off NDO (NamesCo) Need High Bandwidth ISP

Well NDO gave me my marching orders in the form of a mac code this morning because ive been downloading about 40GB's every 30 days over their FUP for the last 4 weeks (before that i was in line with the FUP), so i need a new high bandwidth isp i usually download just over 100GB's a month, but to me thats nothing if you chat with 6 ppl in a skype chat it soon eats the bandwidth, so basically im willing to pay up to £40 a month but for that i want a decent ping (i play alot of online games) no pe'ing about traffic shaping etc, and a minimum of 2Mb/256k, and ofcourse a large allowance over 150GB atleast

can anybody point me in the right direction?

Hi, I would say best go to http://www.ukfsn.org/adsl/maxallowance.html and it had excellent packages of your choice which suit your need of Gb's during peak time and off peak time. For a starter, Home Max 30 Allowance give you a 30 Gb peak time and a massive huge 300 Gb off peak time and that a total of 330 Gb a month for just £19.99 inc vat a month. If you are migration to ukfsn, you get a free migration with no fee. And also, you get a 1 month contract too.

I am with UKFSN Home Max 30, and very happy with it. Good speed all this week with over 6.50Mbps lately.

It worth it mate if I am in your shoe.

150gb thats a lot of data each and every month. Maybe try a business package with a isp, that'll be setup for heavyer users.

Well i did my own research and decided to go with aquiss' 2Mb unlimited at £39.99, looks like a couple of other Namesco lads are headed that way aswell, one guy was booted off Namesco at the same time as me for once just going over the fup slightly a while back rediculous, but if thats how they want to do business so be it.

remember like Bob said, ISP's are business and downloading 150gb is going to cost the ISP far to much, infact its going to cost them more than your subscription fee i guess. Maybe download a little less or is that not possible?

Well thanks for the lecture and the informative factual response, i needed to be told that for the 100th time for it to sink in, i WANT to download as much as i want and that is my business and i am prepared to pay, if Namesco can't provide that then sod em, others can for £5 more, if they are loosing money from downloading 100GB's then they are badly setup.

How much do you think providing 150GB of transfer/month costs the ISP ? AFAIK it costs a lot more than £39.99 ... if you're being told it for the 100th time it's probably because it's true. :hrmph:

Since ISP's are charged according to how much bandwidth they use, it is unlikely you will find one that doesn't charge their customers according to their usage - at least not one that will be in business for long!

No need to get arsey with me !!!

Like everyone is saying NO ONE will let you download that amount every month for months on end, and if Aquiss do they'll go bust before they know it. If you need that amount of data get a leased line.

infact i'm going to bet you £10 that Aquiss are not offering unlimitied without a FUP or AUP 12 months from now.

opps sorry there not unlimitied. WHeres the bloody edit option gone on posts ??

I think you only get a certain amount of time to edit posts.....

Either that or its been turned off for some reason

But on the point of the topic.....
Most ISPs with even half a brain cell are going to put restrictions on users....The sheer amount of P2P that goes on is getting out of hand for most businesses....Until BT or someone else comes out with a way to remove the cost of central pipes or dramatically increase the bandwidth system there are not going to be many (if any) non restrictive packages that cost less than 3 figures a month.

We have had a long time of silly prices from ISPs. And its now affecting things....If there hadn't have been the price war the ISPs could have soaked up most costs from the odd high bandwith users....But with things as they are...That simply isn't possible.

In all we are going to have to live with the fact that we are going to have to have a mid range restriction with perhaps the ability to buy bandwith credits perhaps..

i agree totally with Trikky, many broadband customers were totally obsessed with cost and we've all helped create the current position.

if people bother to check the entanet supplied isps aslong as the customer ues the connection correctly they have over 300 gig a month split between peak and off peak caps

Yes i understand me and my friend are allso with NDO (NamesCo) i download over 80gig a month i started noticing a drop in my speed i called them up just said that maybe my line needs bt to have a look at it so make me do all these bt speed test namesco say no issue and must be my router so anyways i carry on downloading through the months noticed i got disconected alot and speed dropping even more call up there customer service number like asks for my details etc then he tells me yes we been monitoring your usage and you apear to go over are 60gig limit like how can this be its unlimted but its not fair usage policy comes in to it so i am caped to 15kB lol its crazy they have kicked my friend off gave him his ticket out but me i have to suffer i think its a joke how much you pay you get this sort of treatment £40 i think its a lot other isp charge less but agian you get stung by this usage policy wonder how long be to they give me the boot looking at aol or moving to scotland and go with blueyounder or ntl [ADMIN NOTE: Removed abuse].

Basically any of the Enta resellers should be able to accommodate you, i.e. Freeola / Aquiss / UKFSN.

It's also good to see that their 3rd 622 central is also on order! :D
