Laptops

Anyone got any suggestions for a place to get a laptop from?

I have the following requirements:

It has to be cheap - Im looking for a sub £300 one. So far this is the best: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials...gCartAdd&productId=28540&context=superSpecial

I want a semi decent place, i.e. one thats not going to be shutdown in a few months!

It has to be new, not reconditioned etc. I would like the full years warrenty is mostly why.

Ive tried ebuyer, dell, aria (the current best offer), novatech, dabs and pc world.

I

Looks like a decent machine, especially new for the price. I'm sure you realise this, but the integrated graphics mean it's not going to be much use for playing graphics heavy games. The piccies show CD/DVD RW so thats good.

You've covered my usual suspects, if I was you, I'd buy it now, don't think you will get a better offer this side of Christmas.

Get a apple mac one

A few more options:-

Laptopshop

Shoplaptop

Bought from all. No issues have arisen.

The top link should be something like

Laptopshop is a goodie, but the new computers are more expensive than
Oldudes choice.

Check out the Toshiba in Shoplaptop in the cheapest price range, very tasty. But here's a challenge. Is there any way to actually purchase the item, I can see no way of getting it into your basket. Unless I am old and thick.

Cheers peeps, will check all that tomorrow.

An apple isnt an option Im afraid. Overpriced (in my opinion I point out ;) ) and not something I can provide support for!

Im not even sure he (my dad) can afford the cheap one I posted, but the one I got off ebay about a year ago has died and not worth fixing. Hence I want something new with a years warranty.

Useful stuff even if I dont find a laptop on them, always good to have other places to buy from.

Novatech not going away in a hurry. Established firm, it usually has some clearance bargains .would suggest check them out novatech.com

oops! sorry miffie

I went to PC Worls last weekend to buy a "cheap" laptop with a similar budget. However, there was not a single one left in stock and no prospect of any coming in. Of course, a different branch may have a different story. Then went to Comet and bought a Fujitsu, either £319 or £329 depending on capacity. Am pleased with it and took it to my IT people at work who thought it was an excellent buy. Not quite so easy to buy the "cheap" laptop at the moment as so many have been bought by uni students returning/going to uni.

with pc world its better to reserve online that way you see stock availability online and have 24hrs to collect, mind you i did this with a laptop for daughter 4 months ago got to store and no stock, store was in middle of stocktake and stock records were wrong got next model up at same price saved £40.

fujitsu are really good machines better than the e-systems probably worth busting the budget for £20 more
