Hi everyone..
I'm adding this post to update on how to leave MAAF even though you're bound by a 12 month CONtract.
Like most of you i was very pissed of by the state of MAAF since Brightview took em over and wanted to get out of the contract asap!
First of all i found Dirtyweekender's helpful post and rang Brightview direct on 02077257020 to cancel and complain.I was told someone would ring me back, but never did..typical.So i rang up again and instead of waiting to be contacted i asked for the number of someone i could talk to direct.
I rang one of Brightview's teccy people - Peter Brady on 01619291131 and explained i was NOT at all happy with the MAAF service .. ie Email problems, can't connect, unanswered Emails etc etc .Basically problems ever since they were bought by Brighview!.He was very interested with what i had to say and even more so when i told him about this forum and how unhappy their customers were.
Anyway to cut a long story short i received an email stating my account was cancelled and any monies possibly mistakenly taken after the cancellation would be refunded.
So there you go it can be done and on a personal note i think it's a REAL shame to resort to this as they were one of the all time great ISP's for me but to go down the toilet is very sad .
One more piece of info is after ditching MAAF i have gone with PlusNet and they seem really good so far .. only time will tell, but with affordable ADSL just arond the corner who cares
