Leaving MAAF is easy as pie

Hi everyone..

I'm adding this post to update on how to leave MAAF even though you're bound by a 12 month CONtract.

Like most of you i was very pissed of by the state of MAAF since Brightview took em over and wanted to get out of the contract asap!

First of all i found Dirtyweekender's helpful post and rang Brightview direct on 02077257020 to cancel and complain.I was told someone would ring me back, but never did..typical.So i rang up again and instead of waiting to be contacted i asked for the number of someone i could talk to direct.
I rang one of Brightview's teccy people - Peter Brady on 01619291131 and explained i was NOT at all happy with the MAAF service .. ie Email problems, can't connect, unanswered Emails etc etc .Basically problems ever since they were bought by Brighview!.He was very interested with what i had to say and even more so when i told him about this forum and how unhappy their customers were.
Anyway to cut a long story short i received an email stating my account was cancelled and any monies possibly mistakenly taken after the cancellation would be refunded.

So there you go it can be done and on a personal note i think it's a REAL shame to resort to this as they were one of the all time great ISP's for me but to go down the toilet is very sad :( .

One more piece of info is after ditching MAAF i have gone with PlusNet and they seem really good so far .. only time will tell, but with affordable ADSL just arond the corner who cares

MAAF's costomer service is the worst i've ever met, or not as it is :D

How does brightview make money exactly??

If u wanna leave, cancel ur worldpay thing, then see how long it takes them to kick u off!

madasafish ey? they`ve been good to me..connection difficulties occasionally but when connected the speed`s good... excellantay!

Lo all

Well if you want an alternative I am using 2 ISP's atm. Plusnet there 24/7 is £7.00 with max usage of 20 hrs/week though you dont get cut off and for games I have an offpeak conn with Games-world.net which rox (stable pings of 65 and no packet loss :) with a 3 hrs drop (£11.75) both have never failed to connect and are great for what they do.

I cancelled with world pay and didnt bother to inform MAAF well they wouldnt inform me now would they ?

How do I go about cancelling world pay? I have been on the site and it looks like most corporate monster sites, loads of flannel and not much info. Any help appreciated.

Mr Blore

When you use worldpay for the first time you get sent an e-mail with a userid.

Try reading that e-mail for details of how to login.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
