Leaving Virgin Media without termination fees

Hi All,

An alt-net has just moved into my area (HeyBroadband), they are offering considerably cheaper pricing and at greater speeds (not to mention the symmetric upload), compared to my current Virgin Media contract. I am lucky enough to be in an area that isn't over-subscribed with Virgin and I haven't experienced any major issues or outages - besides the high latency when the connection is under strain, which isn't a big issue but can sometimes be noticeable over video calls.

Is there anyway I can get out of my contract without any termination fees?

Many Thanks

From what I'm aware off, no you can't just leave unfortunately if you are still in contract.

You could see if hey broadband will pay your cancellation charges as have seen some altnets offering that. Tell them you are a mate of Carlos and Charlie !

You can leave, however, you'll have to pay an early termination fee, I was going to leave around June and I had only 3 months left for my contract to end, when I called & asked if there is a fee, they said yes, I'll have to pay for the last 2 months left of my contract.

I ended my contract last week, which came to my benefit, as I was out of contract by now and they owe me money in the end, whether I'll see that money they own me soon, not sure, but regardless, it was the best thing I did, leaving VM.

I just got my CF last Saturday, so much cheaper for a higher package 3Gbs symmetric and I was with VM Gig1.

Doubt it, most likely the best they'll offer is 1~3 months free connection.

My Virgin media "locked in with discount" contract comes to an end 21st December (and goes from £22 per month to a rolling contract of £44 for the same 130Mb service). Is it possible to give them my 1 months notice on 21st November and not receive any early cancellation fees?

DO IT NOW! Today! and just pay your last month, don't let it go after or on the day of the 21.
