Lebara - SMS Problems

I've just ported into Lebara from ID and while I'm able to receive texts I'm not able to send them, anybody else had this issue?

I'm using a Moto g32.

What was your port date? Usually you have to wait until 6pm and then restart your phone for the port to be fully completed and working. Before that time, it may allow inbound but not outbound as the port is still in progress.

Are you sure it's an issue with SMS? Make sure RCS/Chat Features (Android) or iMessage (iOS) is turned off in your device settings.

Then try and send a message and see if it goes through as a regular SMS. This way we'll know if the issue is SMS or RCS/iMessage related. Alternatively you can try the SIM in another device and see if it works that way.

If it's still not working, you'll have to let Lebara know that the port hasn't fully gone through. It's called a "split port". Tell them you can receive calls + messages but you can't send them after porting in your number. They'll raise to their MNP (porting) team who should fix it.

Tried turning RCS off, all that did was cut off RCS chats,

I managed to send one SMS when restarting device but then back to fails?

Hmm, either you can try it in a different device or just jump the gun and tell Lebara that the port failed and you can't send messages anymore.

You sure it's not a balance or bundle issue? It may sound a bit silly but we're just eliminating all possibilities.

Tried in a Nokia and it's working ok, so something is wrong with Google Messages app...

My O2 SIM is working fine but Lebara is a no go, checked the SMNC number and that seems fine so now stumped

Try with Samsung Messages (if you're on a Samsung device).

Otherwise try clearing the app data of the Google Messages app. First I would advise to make a backup with the "SMS Backup & Restore" app (it's completely free) just in case anything happens. Then you can safely clear the app data from Google Messages and see if it works. Also make sure it's up to date as well.

Worked it out, something must be wrong with the 4G config for this device, if I put it in 2G only it works fine, however when 4G comes on and VoLTE comes on it stops working again

Scratch that, stopped working again

Given up, hopping network again.

This isn't the first instance of issues with Lebara when it comes to odd network and compatibility issues.

Lebara (and Vodafone) doesn't propogate VoLTE/Wifi Calling for around a week.

Try turning off both completely?

You can also ask live chat to manually set them up.

I mean sure, your choice, but Lebara are fine imo they can just be a bit slow at the outset.

They've already enabled VoLTE, I had an email and device confirms it.
