Lebara VoLTE/VoWiFi for Google Pixel

Same thing on voxi. Used to not get 4G calling on my pixel 6a, but now it seems to work even though the 4G calling option doesn't show up in settings.
I'm finding this topic really interesting since I don't own a Pixel device (although I might pick like an 8 Pro or something used in the future, no point for now since my POCO is fast (once it boots up) and runs Android 13), but I've been having issues with VoLTE/VoWiFi on O2 despite it initially working. The carrier profiles thing is really interesting considering I've never heard of it being on Android.

Maybe O2 is blocking my phone?

Future me. The POCO phone did have VoLTE/VoWiFi after a SIM swap which took place in November and suddenly having them both appear around December.

I'm now using a Pixel 6 Pro and VoLTE/VoWiFi works great on O2.

Still not fixed on the lasted Android 14 update, so each month I have to re-enable Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE. Not sure why Lebara or Google can't sort this out by now.

Wondering if this will ever be fixed. Every month after an update I need to redo the hack to get it working. It works perfectly for Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE, but as soon as an update comes in the fix is undone.

Has there been any news on this?

Only buy a Pixel if it's dirt cheap as they have problems and Google doesn't care.

Wifi calling is now available on my OnePlus phone. I don’t know if that is a the result of a phone or Lebara update.

I've dug up the email addresses of some of the executive team for Google and dropped them a note this is still a problem despite their team indicating they were working on it when I posted an earlier update. This affects multiple networks globally not just Lebara. Meanwhile I've also sent Lebara a message, they're sticking with the line it's with their technical team and I can't speak with them. I've still asked my comments to be fed onto that team and I'd encourage others to do the same.

I did see on one forum someone suggested the Lebara agent told them they've discontinued their contract with Google but I've not heard anything to substantiate this, I'm only mentioning in case someone else is googling the problem and they stumble upon both that thread and this one.

Google have come back to me today (I haven't included the back and forth emails requesting it's escalated!)

They say:
Thanks for contacting Google.

It is not possible to escalate this case any further after it has reached the last level of support. I hope you understand.

We are actively working on expanding our Lebara support and hope to have an update in the next couple of months.
Thanks!

If you own a pixel, raise a support request with Google. Tell them disappointed you are with your premium phone. Link to the Google bug tracker in the chat, this thread, and the many pages of disgruntled users on money saving expert forums.

Settings, Tips and support. You can chat with Google "specialist" who will pretend to give a ****.

I've done all this, and I think the numbers of complaints are never going to be high enough when its just UK people and one network compared to global aggregated issues they see, for this ever to be fixed. Lebara really should drive the fix through and work with Vodafone.

There isn't much to do to fix this, it already works, I've been using VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling constantly for months on the Pixel with Lebara, but after every monthly update I have to reset the setting to allow it to "turn on" again. It simply is a carrier setting issue, and like most things simple, it just needs it to get to the right person to fix it, probably taking less than a few minutes to resolve, but with modern support systems, getting issues to the right people sometimes never happen.

Not overly keen on installing Chinese hacking apps on my pixel to get things working that should work out the box.

It's very clear Lebara, Google or Vodafone aren't owning the issue and perfectly happy to push it around.

Anyone want to ask Lebara to get on this supported page?
ID, Tesco and Sky have managed to get listed, so Lebara need to pull their fingers out.

You could try using Vodafone APN settings and that might switch it to the Vodafone Carrier profile. When I was on Lebara I remember the default APN on the SIM being Vodafone. 4G calling still wasn't working for me but I wasn't using a pixel phone, I was only on android 9.

I called today about WiFi calling and Volte, the script reader mentioned by the end of 2024 !

I guess he was just being dumb and evasive, since no one seem to have a clue.

My take is that they are not paying Google what they need to or viceversa.

The network and phone both support it, if your phone is rooted you can easily enable Volte. It's some sort of licensing issue, not technological.

I read somewhere on XDA forums that it's about profiles on the phone. Google has to add the profile for a pixel for that network. the network can't do it. This is forum talk, so make of that what you will but I know for sure it's true for Asus too.

Yes, this is pretty much fully on Google's side to sort. The profiles determine what is shown in the UI and what can be toggled and enabled. It's likely (in fact guaranteed if the VoLTE toggle enabler trick works) the modem already has the configs required for VoLTE / VoWiFi on Lebara amongst many other providers, Google just take their sweet time enabling functionality on their own configs so that it can be enabled via the regular UI.

I am on Lebara and use the hack on my pixel for WiFi calling. It does not fill me with joy. Probably means next phone will not be a Pixel. Assuming the Samsung S24 does not have this issue. I'm not sure I'm ready to ditch Android for IOS just yet although I'm tempted...

Might not only be Lebara
Talkmobile WiFi calling works fine on my iPhone SE 2022.
Nothing on my Pixel 6.
