Afaik iD and Sky were both listed on the 5G page that they took down recently, not sure whether 5G necessarily worked on Pixel on those carriers thoughWiFi calling is working for me with Pixel 7 on Lebara. Thank you. Regarding "preferred network type", it is still visible in settings, but in fact 5G has never connected with this phone on Lebara in the UK, though it works fine in Spain. As far as I know, this is because Google block 5G on UK MVNOs and other networks, see discussion at and and the bug tracker https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/229334870
Weird, I have a Vodafone eSIM (direct) in my Pixel 6 Pro right now and 5G is accessible + WiFi calling seems to work fine (haven't actually made a call) although I have to go to aeroplane mode to activate itI had a voicemail this morning but no missed call, tried to call 121 and every number I tried said 'server unavailable'. In the sim - WiFi calling - calling preference I prefer mobile and use WiFi if mobile unavailable, I changed to WiFi first then back to mobile first then I could make calls again. Possibly just me with a glitch but others might want to check you can actually make calls! (For info I still have 5g preferred and in diagnostic menu it is set to NR/LTE/gsm etc. and 2g is turned off). I've tried to replicate the problem but can't.
If I get a chance, I'll give my O2 number a call and see whether the same happens on WiFi calling (it also allows me to test voicemail since I don't know what my voicemail sounds like and I've wanted to test whether it works correctly for a bit)@insertfloppydiskhere yeah it was a bit weird, I've never seen server unavailable when trying to make an ordinary phone call using the standard dialler app. Hoping it's a one off, I'm glad I discovered it before I missed any important calls. I did still get the voicemail notification, had they not left a message I wouldn't have known still.
I've seen this many times. The connection is open okay to the server as I can see that in pfSense, but for some reason Vodafone servers don't respond. Sometimes it is temporary and a second attempt at dialling out is successful, other times it seems more of a permanent problem and dropping Wi-Fi and reconnecting sorts it. This is with a Xiaomi phone, so not a Pixel specific issue.@insertfloppydiskhere yeah it was a bit weird, I've never seen server unavailable when trying to make an ordinary phone call using the standard dialler app. Hoping it's a one off, I'm glad I discovered it before I missed any important calls. They're still the most reliable network now iirc@Phil2021 so it's possible my issue was entirely coincidental? It's all a bit disappointing, I'm of the generation remembering they were the big reliable network (especially when it was just them or Cellnet) and a typical advert for the time was:
Back in the day it was pay a bit more for them, get exceptional coverage and service. I've never known a network be susceptible to server unavailable despite a good signal, has Vodafone become second class technically?
(Totally unrelated, I really wanted the music to that advert and took me many phone calls to track it down, it's Faithless and The Garden)
@alan_b and @snarpatroid (or anybody else effected) have you managed to get a 5G signal after the work around? Thanks, that seems to have worked. It went to NR/LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA and has stayed there, at least for now. Preferred network type in the main settings menu is "5g (recommended)" which is not available on the pop up menu. Clearly something is not quite right with the latest android update. But it looks like the volte/voWiFi issue is improved.
My nearest 5G area is about 100 miles away, so no.@alan_b and @snarpatroid (or anybody else effected) have you managed to get a 5G signal after the work around?
I'm on Talkmobile (which uses Vodafone like Lebara) and went to an area where I used to get a 5G connection, but my Pixel 6 was only connecting to 4G. It would be interesting to know if you're getting a 5G connection displaying on your phone with Lebara.
Ah, well I guess you're not terribly directly effected by this new bug then!My nearest 5G area is about 100 miles away, so no.
I've been into Bradford city centre today, where I used to get a 5G signal on my Pixel 6a on Lebara.@alan_b and @snarpatroid (or anybody else effected) have you managed to get a 5G signal after the work around?

Hello neighbor!I've been into Bradford city centre today, where I used to get a 5G signal on my Pixel 6a on Lebara.
Since the update enabling wifi calling, I'm now only getting 4G as well.
Thanks for confirming that this issue is also effecting Lebara as well as Talkmobile users.I've been into Bradford city centre today, where I used to get a 5G signal on my Pixel 6a on Lebara.
