Lebara VoLTE/VoWiFi for Google Pixel

5G seems ok for me on my p8p with a Lebara SIM.
I have had 5G issues on some eSIMs if that's worth adding when it seems to work fine on newer devices from what I've heard (Vodafone 5G Ultra Unlimited Max eSIM connects to NSA fine though) (I think @Peter221 also did too on his 6a)

Interesting.

Interesting.
Also on some physical sims, pretty sure it's to do with the 'Operator settings version" which you can check in the SIM settings.

Something has changed. My Pixel 7 has today started showing a 5G connection with Lebara. This is the first time I have had 5G in the UK. (Though Speedtest showed only 3mbit on a full bars signal, I guess we can't have everything.)

What security patch are you on? I assume Google hasn't released the July 2024 update yet?

My Pixel 6a got the July 2024 security update this morning (dated 5 July 2024).

Still no 5G and still on operator settings version lebara_gb-56....3.18 2024-03-06 :-(
Carrier profiles seem to generally only change during feature drops

@yeehaa excellent work thanks! This really feels like the first time Google has acted so publicly on an issue, I love Google has approached several people to try and iron this bug out. The whole issue from the start trying to get volte and vowifi working to begin with has been a slog but proof we can change things working together and not letting it go. I feel almost a bit like we're part of a mini revolution 😀

I had the same problem with working Wi-Fi Calling but missing 5G on my Pixel 8 with a new Lebara SIM. I opened a chat with Lebara support. I didn't expect that to go anywhere but to my surprise, it did: the agent tweaked something on their end, asked me to reboot my phone, and afterwards I could get 5G on Lebara (in addition to WiFi calling, which still works).

So my advice to anyone facing this issue with Lebara is to reach out to their support chat. Not sure why they don't just apply these fixes for everyone…

I've just come off a chat with them, I sent a link to this chat, see the screenshot - it didn't work.

I've just applied the August 2024 update that was available about an hour ago, 5G calling is back. I'm not near a 5G area to test it right now, would anyone be able to post results if you're in a 5G area please?

(Lebara operator settings are 27/6/24, I didn't check the date before the update)

Oh, have they released it? I was expecting the next update to be on the 15th or something like that

Might have to beg to try Vodafone SA again... (I'll see if my carrier profile updates on O2, currently o2postpaid_gb-56000000294.64 2024-02-28)

Should probably also install it to fix the factory reset issues too.

Nah, profile hasn't changed on O2 (I still want to see whether Vodafone SA may work now though)

Good news.

5G is also back for Talkmobile also.
