Hi Guys
I have a question about who cops the cost for streaming media on the web.
I'm using windows media encoder to stream a web camera feed. For someone to view it they will need to enter my IP address + the port number on there windows media player.
My question is who pays for the bandwidth and whose server will take the strain if say 200 people where to log on and who would the ideal ISP be?
My understanding so far is there will be an upload of the web camera feed but there will also be a download of the feed, is the download just using the viewers ISP and what about the strain on the server? Is this going to grind down my ISP’s server and will they charge for that?
Any help with this will be great.
Many thanks.
