I live in Balham, London, and am approximately 100m from the exchange. My road was built at a time that running phone lines direct to the exchange made sense. If I visit the OpenReach fibre checker, it reports that the exchange (LSCLPM) is fibre enabled, but further reports "Technology: Pending - EO Line". In other words... maybe someday.
I wrote to Openreach, who wrote "I’m afraid that your Distribution Pole (DP): 1691, is not included in the current roll-out plan to divert the Exchange Only line towards the Cabinet."
However, if I visit the Community Fibre site and plug in my details, the site reports "Fibre not available. You are connected to South Clapham via an 'EO (Exchange Only) line'. Faster broadband is not available to you yet, the first cabinets in your area are expected to be upgraded by the end of the year."
The status has been the same for a year. My road in particular has not been wired for Virgin Media nor Hyperoptic. Referencing the 2011 census against the postcodes served directly by this exchange, there are approximately 68 households affected by the lack of OR committing to implementing a green cabinet that would allow for fibre. More frustraing still is that this exact area was one of the pilot areas for G.fast, so while the green cabinets in the vincinity are getting +300MB fibre, 68 households cannot even get 30MB.
Any suggestions to find out whats going on?
