Looking for reliable 'superfast' broadband for VPN use

I am a home worker for an international company that requires me to login via an encrypted VPN. However, I've seen a lot of problems with BT Infinity and also with other superfast providers. As far as I can tell a lot of the problems seem to stem from the routers that are used. I am wired for Virgin, but don't really want to switch from copper (I'm just not a fan of Virgin). I know I can purchase a better router that will fix the problem, however my employer won't cover the cost, so there is no point.

Has anyone got any good or bad tales of connecting to VPNs on superfast broadband?

Thanks,

Wally

There is a VPN bug with some of Openreach's VDSL (FTTC) modems, although this is about to be fixed and doesn't impact all ISPs.

Otherwise I can't see why VPN would have problems on FTTC and you could always pick an ISP like Sky Broadband, which can now bundle a VDSL integrated router with their package instead of using the Openreach one (always ask them what they'll give when you order though).

That's a great help, thank you very much Mark. However, I've also seen information that relates to problems with the HomeHub and blocking UDP traffic. Do we know more about that?

I believe the UDP issue is related to that bug, although it's more with the separate Openreach modem than the HomeHub router (unless it's the HH5 that comes with a VDSL modem built-in but I don't know if the bug impacts that too).
