Hi, our Virgin Media contract is up for renewal at the end of December this year. We don't have need for massive speeds but ever since Virgin replaced the RG6 connector on the cable to our property (Both at the property and in the street cabinet) our connection has been great and it has allowed for better and more stable latency. Latency is around 25-30ms I think. My partner has found working from home using Citrix systems etc since the latency has got better and less dropped packets she has found the experience much better.
What other ISPs in Belfast are there which have better latency?
I know TalkTalk use IPoE as opposed to PPOE and this can allow for better latency, my grandmothers FTTC TalkTalk connection has a latency of around 16ms for example!
I read somewhere on this forum that Plusnet are meant to be good? (Sounds like a wildcard)
In Belfast, Fibrus is not yet available in my area - ideally I'd get connected with them when they do become available
Any ideas or suggestions?
