Lyca Mobile: Suspicious Card Transactions

to add to the fun...

Did a password reset to get a look at the order.

And superpatch are idiots....

my email

You might want to cancel this order.

This was done on a fraudulent card. The card is cancelled by the bank (and has
been for some time)

it was part of the Lycamobile leak, hence they used my email and an old card
details

not sure why you are sending as the card is 100% declined and cancelled...

(and im in the uk)

can you confirm the last 4 digits of the card number used please

Cheers

Hello Dave,

Thank you for contacting The Super Patch Company!

I understand that you are reaching out to us about cancelling an order.
This order has already been shipped out and cannot be cancelled. The last four digits of the card on file is 3266.
It has been a pleasure assisting you and we hope this has helped with your inquiry.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

SO is it still worth buying the 50GB lyca sim for £6.50 discounted for 6 months on a Virtual one time disposable card?
nope, not for me - not when I just got this yday -

50GB MSE Exclusive Monthly Plan
£1.25 x 7 months (thereafter £9.90) 30 Days for new customers

if it's a one time disposable card, how will the other mths within the 6mths be paid for then, as the one time payment will only be for the first mth?
Can you top up the line and they take the fee from the pay as you go balance?

interesting question, not active on my 1p mobile SIM so not sure,
but with Lebara in my experience, topup balance is different from fees for packs/package. There was a time I had to topup one of my Lebara accs and the topup amount has been there since (over a year now) whilst they kept debiting my card for the recurring pack.

So now that Lyca is pretty much going... any recommendation for a provider that has cheap-ish calls abroad? My dad uses a Lyca for calls to family in the EU and Lyca was perfect at that. Would Lebara be the next best thing?

My mum uses Lebara. Not as her main because Vodafone's data is unusable at work, but no complaints about Lebara itself.

For EU countries it's usually 2p/min for landlines or 5p/min for mobile numbers. Plans usually have at least 100 minutes included. (Check Uswitch or Money Saving Expert for really cheap plans.)

If you want to stick with EE Signal, Spusu give you free calls to a range of international destinations for free with their SIMs.

Lebara isn’t bad either but it’s Vodafone signal and only 100 mins of free calls compared to the 500 above.

I will probably go with Lebara only because it’s a secondary number he uses for calls to the EU so it will only be topped up when needed. Plus it seems like they’re the cheapest.

It’s a shame Lyca has gone the way it has… their SAVER Tariff (1p per min / per text to an EU number) was very useful

Correct - But you wont beable to burst past a certain speed - Its usable for a decent chunk of stuff - Downloading you might face issues though

interesting, so what's the average max speed at that point then?
