MAC code troubles

I was disconnected by my ISP without notice.
When I finally realised after wasting an afternoon trying to "fix it" I called them.
They said it was their supplier doing it to force people to capped accounts.
For the price I was paying they only offered a 2Gb capped account, so I said thats unacceptable.

They said they would issue a MAC code.
They sent it to the ISP email address not my other one, despite the fact that I always used this one to communicate with them.

Also because I cant access the net from home I can only go through the public library system, from which I cant connect to their provision for their email account. Oddly I can still log on to my user accoutn at the ISP.

I cant get a MAC code. Its now almost 2 weeks.

Suggestions please

must finsih this time running out.

ps - note for this sites listings...
firenet no longer supply uncapped accounts, according to them

Firenets suppliers are Netservices! How do Firenet say you can request a MAC code can you request by letter if so send one recorded delivery with a stamped self addressed envolope asking for the MAC code to be posted to you. Failing that you can PM the Firenet Rep on these forums requesting his help in this situation.
Have you called them on their support line asking to be given the MAC over teh phone as you cannot access the email address they say they have sent it to?
Did you keep a copy of your email requesting a MAC if so you can go to OFCOM once a week has passed to say you haven't had the MAC code from your supplier and they will investigate and get it for you. This method will incurr a fine for the ISP that failed to deliver the MAC.

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place for this, to start with im a new member and secondly im having similar problems getting a MAC from Bulldog ( Ive since made a complaint to ISPA ), by the way ive got the landline & broadband package, anyone in a similar situation read on, the following was taken from Bulldogs website

www.bulldoglounge.com/support/broadband/faq.asp

If I cancel my Bulldog service, how do I get MAC number?

Bulldog can only issue you with a MAC number if you have one of its broadband-only services including AllTime or BizTime. (These are available only where we cannot offer our combined broadband+phone services). If you are cancelling one of these services and need a MAC code, please contact Customer Services on 0800 404 8151 (select option 1) to request it.

Please note: If you have a combined broadband+phone service we do not (and cannot) provide a MAC number. Please advise this to your new provider.

So does anyone have any idea's how I can get out of this, apart from cancelling my service with bulldog altogether ( phone & broadband ) then getting BT to install a new line from scratch so to speak ?

any help and or advice is greatfully appreciated
andy

Your contract with Bulldog was/is for telephone AND internet B/Band..IMHO you cannot now cancel one without cancelling both as the price you pay is for the PACKAGE ...AFAICT there is no "get out of this" unless you are willing to cancel the entire package and let BT handle your telephone supply once again...this would entail you having your B/band connection 'ceased' and re-supplied by whoever you decide to go with thereafter....Sorry

Edit - reason= spelling

Thank you for the fast response " tracker " its very much appreciated even though the outcome doesnt sound to good

Thank you once again
