Mac Mini - Opinions?

Good evening,

My computer requirements have now changed, and I'm looking into the possibility of a Mac Mini. Has anyone bought one? Is it any good?

I know the specs are low, but I don't need a powerful system, and I want to return to Mac.

Ultimately I'd like a G5 but that not an option for the time being. Shame!!

Thanks in advance.

Mac Mini's look ace, is it a g5 powermac or imac your after in the end? Remember if your a student to ask for your student discount from the apple store.

Tiger out on 29th. I'd be inclinded to wait till then but if you buy now you can up grade the os for a lil cheaper than the £90 retail price.

Mac Mini

After all the help and advice, I've decided to wait until I can afford a PowerMac G5 which is my ultimate computer. No doubt the G6 will be out by the time I can afford it, but hey, at least I'll be a Mac owner again.

Thanks.

I love my G5 powermac and think your making the right decision, its more than a windows replacement, its a M$ killer. The mini mac's are brill if your on a budget or a want to be a new windows to mac converter. I wouldnt worry about the G6 yet, i imagion it'll be a while till then, and when it does come out, you'd be able to pick up a G5 dirt cheap :)

Problem with the Mini is that it's almost a barebones system, so you end up having to fork out a lot of extra cash if you don't already have the needed kit.

Might be worth checking eBay for cheaper/more powerful 'used' Mac's and I'm sure there are some websites that sell refurbished ones for cut down prices.
