Mapping Service Availability

Does anyone know if there is an API for the Netomnia website availability checker? I got a little paranoid that they are missing out my road as it is on the edge of town with comparatively small number of houses on. I found a list of main post codes for my little town and searched each one by one and noted down the response. Its not 100% accurate as I chose the first address per postcode, so in theory the first house on a road may have availability and the rest do not (or vice-versa).

Turns out there are many post codes that they haven't got to yet. There seems to be three responses on the availability checker:

  • Good News! We've started working in your area. Soon you'll have access to 100% full fibre broadband. Register interest below to get notified when your propery is ready for service.
  • Unfortunately we're not there yet. We're working to connect your area to our full fibre network but your address is currently not in scope. Register interest below to let us know you would like the network extended to you and don't forget to let your neighbours know as well. We're always open to extending our network in areas where it's most needed.
  • We're building in your community! We're working to connect your area to our full fibre network but your address is currently not in scope. Register interest below to let us know you would like the network extended to you and don't forget to let your neighbours know as well. We're always open to extending our network in areas where it's most needed.

It would be good if I could run this every so often to see their progress. Do you know if there are any ways of automating a task that took about 30mins to complete (130 post codes)?

Looking in the browser dev tools, the checker returns a list of addresses when you search and they use recordNumber as the key, you then submit this to the API when you pick your address off the list and it sends the request to

You need an authorisation header to do this but presumably you can get this by looking at what happens when you access their webpage.

This map is niiiiiiiice - I'm wondering on what you did / how you populated this map, this could be a fun little project :p

(If you don't mind sharing your workflow :) )
Assuming its each postcode, with the status next to it in a table and then data piped to powerbi?

Thanks. I'll do a bit more digging.

I found a website that listed all the valid postcodes in my area along with other details like lat/long eastings/northings and populations. I then went through that list one by one on the website and copy/pasted the message for the first address in each post code. Turns out there are only three messages. I then put this into Power BI.

Would love to help - but all I get when I use the Netomnia checker is a link to go to the YouFibre website (who then want your life story before they tell you if it's available).

They don't seem to have a public API documented unless I'm missing something? trying to dig into the site itself, it looks like it's using a storage account and it seemed to be obfuscated from a very quick look, so I'm not sure you'll be able to query them directly.

@Msh apologies for the direct ping, thought this might be something you can assist with?

Oh yes, I have a tonne on this topic :ROFLMAO:

This resembles the BIDB seeding scripts quite a lot (we have a utility to pass a checker and a district, then run through every postcode), the results are then handled separately by the bidb mapping infrastructure.

So first of all, yes. The API on their site is usable, however, maybe it's best if you PM me and I can provide you with an API that abstracts all this complexity away. "BuildStatus" specifically is the field you're after.

Next, I know nothing in that district is live yet, but there's no need to check postcodes again once they have gone live:
bidb-results.webp

Netomnia falls into the middle category there with the 3 states of unplanned/planned/live. It's very unlikely that it'll go backwards once it's hit live.

Last of all, 30 minutes is way too slow. Parallalise it. The bidb district seed script took 21 seconds to do all 401 postcodes in that district (that includes the script determining what postcodes to lookup).
