First I was on Tiscali 2mb...They sent me a FUP email so i promptly left them and joined up with namesco on a 8mbps connection. Ever since then my connection went abysmally slow, as in less than 512k in most cases. They told me the best option was to downgrade to a 2mbps connection, as the "ADSLMax" was a new technology and sometimes unstable.
So I did this, and still no joy. Then NamesCo told me that they had been told by BT that there was a problem with the voice side of my line. BT then told me it would be fixed by friday. I came home from college at about 4 20 and my internet was still going slow. I tried restarting the router and such and no change. Then I decided to leave my router off for a while. When i came back from a friends at 11 30, I switched it on, and it only managed to sync and not connect.
BT told me today that the line is now fine - not by my reckoning mind, after managing to connect again, it still goes slow. Now NamesCo are having to "escalate" the problem and get their "3rd Line" support to contact BT. For this I have to wait until Monday. From what I've read it's not my ISP at fault, it's that BT are useless at such things.
Anyway, what should I do?
