Well after some issues here and there and only living in devon (Chard) for little more than 5 months theres a big possibility of moving again (not definite yet) so l guess its time to look for a new ISP just in case its needed.

Currently l am with Virgin, however lm not very happy with their additions to the T&Cs and the fact that they are even remotely considering adopting Phorm, however lm still undecided about keeping them as my ISP as generally they havent been too bad given my needs, the problem comes if l decide to keep with them that we have already used the Home Movers option and as far as l know its not an option as it can only be used once every 12 months which means contract wise it will be hard to get around without making a fuss about Phorm as lm sure l could play it in such a way that l might be able to leave (as l have heard others have been able to play such a card and get out of their contracts), this sadly leaves me with few choices for new ISP...

To be honest l dont really like having a cap, because l would always be worried about hitting it... l much prefer to have a FUP however l dont want to be with Tiscali.

I guess l could say lm looking for something similar and reasonably stable which dont impose a limit which l can hit and that only limit at peak times, ld also prefer an ISP that offered MAX services, the sad thing is if l do play the Phorm card and successfully avoid charges for leaving early then if l cant find anything that suits me elsewhere going back might cause issues.

forgot to add, l have looked at this http://www.firsttele.com/residential/residential-broadband-8Mb.htm and it looks interesting but there lack reviews and information about their supplier so l wondered if anyone knew anything about them and reliability as a possible choice. (and yes l know unlimited is impossible but l prefer FUPs rather than specific limits because l cant account for other family members usage which could quite easily consume a great deal of data)

You won't be surprised that I suggest you try an Enta reseller like ADSL24 (good control panel). 330GB for £19.99 is hard to beat.

I'm with Vivaciti an entanet reseller, yes they do have fixed limits but if you go over them they just move you up to the next level for that month, the only downside is that you would be hit with a £5 admin charge. At least you won't be cut off or throttled for going over the limit.

Other than the Entanet vISPs, I'd also suggest the usual safe bets like Fast.co.uk, Zen, IDnet and especially O2 or sibling Be. The only other provider at the alternative super-cheap end of the scale that I'd even remotely trust (personally) is Sky Broadband.

I was also going to suggest o2. They have good prices, have connection speeds upto 20 Meg and according to their site offer "Unlimited" usage.

Also, been reading some good reviews of their service right here on ISPReview just lately.

the problem l find with limitations and my family is they dont care about them and the moment ld go over them it would be my fault for overage charges....

l installed bandwidth monitors once and found my family to be using in excess of 200+ GIG at most that month l had only used 90GIG of that myself the rest was my sister youtubing, l had tried approaching her on this but as she is the type who doesnt give a rats the worrying possibility of hitting the limit with a faster connection (if we move that is) means it would be easier to hit 100GIG more if i pushed it, hence why lm looking for something that only limits at peak times, in any case l appreciate the infos given within this post so far.

personally ld prefer a little bit more speed than 2meg.. granted its nice but ld rather spend less time downloading and more time enjoying...
