Mikrotik LHGG: Unable to change APN

Bit of a weird one. I am playing with an Mikrotik LHGG running an NL952 modem. I have switched from a Talkmobile Sim to Three sim and I cannot switch to the Three APN. It refuses to move from Talkmobile.

It is working with the wrong APN, although download speeds are less than half what I get on a NL952 equipped SXT pointing at the same mast. The slower speed may not be related.

I have upgraded from 7.12 to 7.14 but it hasn't helped.

This is the error message...

Has anybody got any idea what the problem may be?

Edited to add that the SXT now seems to have the same problem. Maybe I imagined that it worked properly before.

If it is any help to anybody else, I resolved this by wiping the config and then running it again. I still have no idea what was causing the problem.

I think it was dazmatic saying you need to set a certain firmware on the modem before it's properly compatible with mikrotik. Have you done this step?

Yes. On both of them.

It's vey odd. because I haven't done anything other than change the set APN from Talkmobile to Three in the config file. However, now I can change APNs at will without getting the GSM not supported error message.

At least I know how to fix it now, although I need a laptop to do it.

Mikrotik made a major changes to the Wireless drivers in 7.13

Notice - Starting from RouterOS version 7.13, significant changes have been made to the RouterOS wireless packages. This is done due to a new product development which will require more disk space for hardware drivers so we had to split it in order to maintain old products alongside the new ones. More wireless packages are yet to come.

Mobile broadband is considered wireless by Mikrotik implementation and resetting would make perfect sense
