MikroTik R11e-LTE . How do I reset to factory settings?

Software version 6.49.6 so someone has been in there between March and October 2022, and its not the latest 6 release??

Auto upgrade won't show any sources until you configure the APN profile for the LTE device correctly. All that screen is showing is its got mobile reception, not mobile data/internet access

Hmm, that’s weird. Maybe auto update was turned on?
How do I update to the latest version? Is it worth it?

Which SIM card is in the device original EE or new Vodafone?

If its EE then the APN profile is presumably set correctly, if it's Vodafone then you need to update the APN profile.

It’s a Vodafone sim. I’ve updated the apn settings as per the Vodafone site. EE are now out of the picture.
I just did a speed test and we’re getting 15 to 20mb!! Never had that sort of speed before!

Well done! The next thing is to get on to cellmapper.net and find the best direction to point it and what bands are available.

Ooh. Didn’t know about that. Just trying the thing in a different location now..in the attic where we can get it higher!

You can always go for the full overkill.

I just wanted to than all you chaps who helped. We’ve never seen speeds much above 4 to 5mb and now we seem to be getting 3x that! We can finally watch Amazon Prime and Netflix and I just couldn’t have done it without your help.
All the best, to all of you!

Sadly, after working for a couple of days and giving us a taste of decent speed, the Mikrotik stopped working last night. No lights are on in the unit and it's not responding to anything at all. Opening it up showed that its internals were soaking and it had obviously let water in..😔
I've borrowed a ZTE MF286D 4g modem/router from a friend as a stopgap while I consider my alternatives. I have no knowledge about this thing but my friend reckoned it was brilliant. He now has cable..

I thought you had put the SXT in your attic?

Any water that gets in is supposed to drain out the bottom.

It’s actually very, very good!
I can’t put it outside so I just have it inside on a table near to and connected to our TP link Deco Mesh router and it’s giving 20mb all around the house! This was a huge shock - I thought it was going to be pretty crappy.
Only problem is that our Eufy cameras absolutely refuse to work with it but I have no idea why.

Mtu issues maybe? See if you have the option to lower it in the cameras.

Not sure. Deco was set as an access point and the ZTE was set as a bridge. Got fed up with the various permutations so I set both as ‘normal’ routers and everything started working again. I’m sure I’m going to get double Nat issues but for now, I’m just glad it’s working!
These internet issues are terrible time-sponges..
