Mikrotik SXT LTE6 and Lycamobile

Hi,

So I just bought the SXT LTE6 kit and had a spare Lycamobile around to test with (works great in my Xiaomi). I can't seem able to get the Mikrotik to work though.

I set the correct APN data.lycamobile.co.uk (no auth), the signal values are good, but I'm not getting an IP and as there is no default route I can't ping out from the Mikrotik terminal.

Has anyone got it to work with Lyca before (or other O2 MVNOs)? I know there have been struggles with O2 on the forum, but found nothing to help me in this instance.

Cheers

@tommydog didn't get it working until they ticked allow roaming

You, sir are a gentleman and a scholar!
That was it.

What's the modem firmware version under the LTE interface and what routeros version has it come with?

R11e-LTE6_V025
RouterOS was 6.48.? (I think), upgraded few minutes ago to 6.49.6.

That firmware is from 2020, latest is 032 but no changelog anywhere.

025 was notorious for issues with Carrier Aggregation.

RouterOS7 is available if you want to upgrade

Cheers. In the testing channel, right?

Yes that will allow you to move to RouterOS 7 stable.

Latest LTE firmware is 34, released in June, though there are reports of carrier aggregation missing.
Crap, already started the modem firmware upgrade :)

Well, so far so good, speeds not much different than before the upgrade and I can see primary and CA bands reported, I take it CA is happening.
Overall speeds are modest tough, with a higher CAT device I could get 100Mbps+ on both EE and O2 (4G-only obvs).

Right now with the SXT LTE6 I am seeing 60/6 Mbps max on O2 and 40/40 Mbps on EE.

The speeds are modest, but reasonable and I really like the device, it's awesome. It'll be my 3rd ISP, for emergencies - with Lyca/O2. Maybe I'll invest in a higher CAT modem at some point.
