EE - no data throughput.

It was on my S24U hence the Vo5G logo.

If you take a look at the signal strength you’ll see why there’s no data throughput.

I was passing by an SA enabled mast near Lowton, on the East Lancs (A580). It’s rubbish on that stretch, in the 2 years I’ve driven through EE has not worked properly.

Definitely on standalone,

Here’s a new one? Capability is SA only, but has 5g and lte bands listed…

I will do! I think I was more worried that I wasn’t connecting at all. But that’s been squashed. It’s not often Vodafone know and or fix the issue!

If you’re on SA you’d only see SA listed in the iPhone FTM next to Capabilities. In my experience though FTM can be slow to update so to be sure you should then launch nPerf to cross check. If they both report the same you’re golden.

I’m having no luck on my eSIM.net Vodafone plan as of yet. It locked onto SA after first activation for a few seconds and hasn’t shown its face since. I suspect I failed some aspect of VF’s SA verification (plan, phone type etc) and I’m locked out for now. eSIM.net’s customer support is looking into it but I’m not overly hopeful.
Any update from CS?

Any update from CS?

They declared it was all fixed yesterday after escalating to Vodafone for 3 days but nothing has actually changed. So now they’ve requested FTM screenshots and they’re going back to Vodafone.

They’ve been fairly decent support wise but definitely allergic to the idea of a refund (they keep saying they’ll get it to work). No explicit confirmation that SA is actually supported by them but the fact they’re pursuing it with VF gives me some hope.

Separately I complained to Vodafone directly yesterday for the third time about a bug on my local mast that has been giving high 5G latency for months and magically this morning the mast is back to high 20/low 30ms pings (down from 80ms avg with huge jitter). Maybe a coincidence but now I’m less incentivised to care about SA than ever unless it moves the latency down substantially!

Just a quick update: for timing reasons I needed this one resolved today. I let eSIM.net know this morning and they’ve decided to just refund me instead. So I can’t conclusively say SA isn’t supported but I can say it didn’t work out or the box for me on their Vodafone offering (which has the SA toggle available in iOS).

Has anyone been successful in using SA with an iPhone using eSIM on O2 yet?

Allegedly their eSIMs are R15 and should support it but not working here.
