I have a somewhat unsupported device (Sony Xperia 1 VI) and to make it worse I don't even have the UK variant, though I have flashed it with the UK firmware which seems to have improved my signal and given me VoLTE/VoWiFi which I didn't have before.

To try to test out SA in London I've signed up to Vodafone and O2 but haven't been able to connect in NR only mode on either, despite being able to pick up cells in Netmonster and Cellmapper.

My expectations were low with Vodafone since it seems they only allow approved devices on the network but I was expecting O2 would work. Are there any areas in London where O2 SA is working properly, so I can test it out? I do have an R15 physical SIM card.

I'd expect O2 to work as the VI is an officially supported SA device.

Kings Cross has SA, I think Fenchurch St does as well if I'm not mistaken.

If neither work I could point you in the direction of how to check if SA is enabled at a baseband level.

Do EE support the Fold6 on SA?

Happy to report that I managed to get SA working before I even reached King's Cross, at Bond St Station and near Curzon Soho. Good news for those who bought non-EU/UK IVs.

Now if only I could test EE on it without splashing out on a 24 month contract 🙄

Is VoNR enabled on EE SA? If yes is it enabled on certain masts or everywhere where SA is available?

O2 (Virgin Media O2) have standalone 5G deployed on an Ericsson small cell in Birmingham. Performance reasonable for 40MHz n78.

Over 80mbps was possible from the 1800MHz 4G also broadcast - illustrates the throughput 4T4R and 256QAM enables even on small spectral bandwidths.
