It’s on the list, look around in the new year
Don't suppose you might know when the LU area is likely to get SA 5G if at all?

The only coverage checker that mentions it is Vodafone and they have no plans least for the next 3 months of rolling it out, just wondered if any other operator was going to roll it out instead?

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know why cellmapped 5G SA sites may have different gNB IDs to the ones reported on the device? E.g. the main O2 site serving the highstreet in Southend is gNB 870 on cellmapper, however my phone reports it as being gNB 3483 on both cellmapper and NSG. Is this supposed to be happening?

NSG needs the bit length changing to 22bits. The cellmapper app does not have the functionality for this yet, so it will show a discrepancy between the app/web

Thanks that worked! Hopefully cellmapper gets an update to fix that at some point

National rollout of 5G Standalone network could save 11 million hours annually for UK Police, freeing them up for frontline operations.

A wee bit of hyping going on here I think, oh and yes, it got a mention. 😊

Short mmWave Article

The plummeting value of 5G mmWave spectrum.

This Is American related folks, but I wonder how we'll get on with it when auction time arrives. 😊

Do you have your phone set to 5G On or 5G Auto?

Trying to figure out does 5G Auto choose 5GSA over clinging on to LTE+5GNSA.
Yes, 5G On. 5G On will prioritise 5G SA even if performance is affected (na aggregation). Usually upload is worse on SA than NSA that is why on 5G Auto NSA is preferred.

Not only upload, but also as of right now lack of SA coverage widely still (it is improving, however there's still more NSA 5G coverage than 5G SA coverage.)

My nearest mast still lacks SA on either O2 or Three. Not that Three matters, they installed a phase 8 right next here about 2 years ago in October. That strangely enough (still seems to have 3G active)
