Mobile Phone Batteries

I'm about to buy a new mobile and battery life on standby is one of the main things I'm looking for. I see one manufacturer claiming 360 hours standby with a 720 mAh NiMH battery, while another claims only 150 hours for a 850 mAh Li-ion battery. Do I ignore the manufacturers' claims and choose the one with the highest-rated battery within my price range?

Maybe one phone uses (alot) more battery life on standby than the other?

I think that the manufacturers claims are usually pretty accurate (maybe slightly exaggerated).

Your best bet is to speak to the carphone warehouse, as they are indepdent and should be able to give you all the information you need.

ignoring the manufacturers and going for the biggest battery is about the worst thing you could do - like Dac said some use more battery on standby, such as crappy screensavers/motion crap etc....

of course expect a little less than advertised, but they all exaggerate (nokia the worst)
