Little update from me, My gigafast absolutely sucks,

As so does others with sky gigafast. Speeds are capped at 200 - 300 on wired speed tests

I even went out a purchased an RT AX88u router to see if it helped ... Nope still the same speeds as the sky router the only thing that it's helped is the Wi-Fi side of things.

Test's from the ONT to the computer shows 220 - 320 mbps.

But everything on sky's side is fine.

I don't think they've got the capacity to handle such speeds.

What sort of machine are you testing with?

Have you tested with a machine that can be booted into Ubuntu and wired directly into the ONT to ensure its not a Windows (esp. Anti V. / anti-malware software) issue?

It's a weird ONT too, It's got a PON, PWR, LAN, and Alarm on it. It's not a nokia ONT or any of the others that are common, It's only to be used with sky that's what OR engineer told me

It’s an Adtran 611 in white. Looks like this..

It’s not just Sky that are rolling them out. They are used by other ISPs much like the earlier Huawei’s and Nokia’s. Here is a link to a thread on TBB where a chap had one installed with BT as the ISP. He had some problems with the splicing inside the CSP his original install.

Thats why I went with 100mb... some times the servers you dl from are also capped so no matter how much you can suck down it will not let you.

I've found my xbox to be a bit link this.

Stablity is better though we less start stop.

I'm doing a big fttp role out for a customer of mine and there is another type - I've not managed to find out what brand it was but its basically the same size with 'dot' leds rather than 'line' leds if you follow ?

One port devices and tbh I quite like these style as they are neat.

Openreach withdrew their BBU style ONT (Huawei) in mid 2019 or thereabouts. The same time they withdrew the voice port from the ONT.

With the imminent withdrawal of PSTN, BT announced a few months ago that they are exploring additional backup options, following the debacle of the winter storms this year and widespread service outages.

Your doing a roll out? Can you elaborate?

ONT manufacturers can generally be discerned from the leading 4 to 8 characters of the serial number. Can you elaborate?
