Moving House Issues

Hi

Have a problem with my current ISP Aquiss. Migrated to them from Plusnet on the 14th November. All went fine but even after 10 day period i was having to reset router twice daily and also lost connection 2 or 3 times a day.

I did report this and after several emails support basically said that the solution for my problem was the planned new pipe they were going to install. Which to me said they currently cant cope

I wasnt too impressed but thought i would stick it out and see how it goes. Anyway on Friday i find out that my house move has gone through quickly and that we are moving Monday. I realise this would cause delays as late notice but contacted Aquiss about this. They then told me that they would do it but would cost £55 to do so.

At this point i was extremly annoyed, not only was the service poor but now i would have to pay £55 to move house with this service. After this i enquired about the possiblity of cancelling my Aquiss account and then taking up one of the free activation 12 month contracts with someone like Firefly or NDO. After a while Aquiss support responded and bascically said i couldnt request cancellation until 14th Dec (1 month even though im paid for the month) and so it would be Jan 13th when it gets cancelled. Thus meaning id have to pay for the Dec-Jan at £24.99.
Im really annoyed at this, id be still annoyed at the £55 to move but having a good service, but to charge me £55 to move this service is not something i want to do - added to the fact they throw in the 30 day cancellation period and im seriously annoyed!!

I have requested that the 10 days notice i can give until my next billing period is enough and can they cancel the account but they still insist on their code of practice etc. Basically do i have a case? can they force me to wait 30 days and pay the extra month despite the poor service?

I have tried one last time with their support team but it looks as though i will have to cancel this but keep paying until Jan 13th. The other problem is after my move will their details still be on line as im keeping the number? or will it lose the tag in the new house, enabling me to move to new ISP?

Has now been sorted with Aquiss and they have agreed to start a cease on the account with no further charges.

Shame the situation came about as they offer a good package deal, just the service couldnt keep up with demand i assume. Not a fan on the 30 day cancellation notice either but i suppose the good deals will have some bad points about them.
