Moving to the UK

I am moving to the UK at the end of the year, from belgium and I'm looking into a ISP at the moment. I am looking for a broad band connection, and I'll be living in Horsham, West Sussex. Can anyone recommend a ISP as I am not familiar with UK ISP's at all...

ADMIN EDIT: Pasted in members same post from another forum area:

I am moving to the UK from Belgium at the end of the year, and I'm looking into a cell phone provider at the moment. And I was hoping some of you might be able to help me find the best price/quality for me. I am not familiar at all with UK providers so it's hard for me to make a judgement. Here is some info about what I need:

- I'll be living in Horsham, West Sussex. So obviously good reception in this area is necessary!

- I'm looking to pay a monthly fee.

- I need a new phone, so a great deal on a good phone (perhaps even a smart phone) would be nice.

- I'll be calling Belgium daily, sometimes several times per day. Preferably I'd like this not to cost (too much) extra.

- I'll be visiting belgium once every month or 2 months. A plan where calling in Belgium (to the UK and locally) doesn't cost (too much) extra would be nice. I am considering getting a pay card in Belgium for when I'm there as this would probably be cheaper?

if you know the postcode of where you will be staying and a phone number then the below web address will give you a reasonable idea what you can get

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php

altho indications suggest "if" this is the exchange you will be connecting to
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange.php?ecode=SDHRSHM

that you will be able to take advantage of ADSL MAX ("upto" 8meg) also some LLU services are available, but bare in mind altho they are cheaper some charge more connection fees than normal ADSL however in the long run isps can run things cheaper using them, BE seems to be enabled so depending on distance from the exchange you might be able to get "upto" 24meg however l will note this depends on line length from the exchange.

One recommendation i would make is to go for a smaller ISP that has good reviews rather than a main stream ones who to them your just another number.

Look at the complaints against the ISP and to how many customer they have.

Think about how much data you will be transfering? Is it just browsing? downloading or streaming media? VOIP (this can use a few gig a month)?

Unless you pay a premium for it then your never going to get a true unlimited connection, dont be fooled by the cheap unlimited adverts you get what you pay for.

One or two ISP's that is yes main stream but seem to be doing quite well are Sky and Be as long as you are close to the exchange. I wouldnt go for them thou, I want to speak to some one who knows what they are talking about and can help me there and then and not just a script reader.
