Hello,
I am in a very awful situation right now, because I have been denied access to some websites that I consider as being essential. I'm being blocked by these sites because my (immature) younger brother decided he would have fun by spamming some forums that I was a regular user of. The admins/moderators of these sites must have gotten pretty ticked off, so they banned my entire ISP from connecting to their websites. I have a dynamic IP, so I tried disconnecting my internet, and then cleared all of my internet cookies, but this didn't work, so the sites definitely blocked my ISP.
Could I possibly get my ISP to change the city that my internet connects to? My ISP is very popular in this part of Canada, so perhaps they have additional ISP buildings in other cities that I could connect to? If I could do this, I know for sure that I'd be able to browse these sites again, I'd just have to password protect my computer to prevent my brother from using my PC again when I'm not around.
Just for the hell of it, I connected to the internet using my dialup modem, looked at the IP, and oddly enough it was coming from a different city than my high-speed connection (same ISP though). So do ISPs usually have ISP 'connect' buildings scattered about?
Please try to help me get back onto these sites. I'm not fond of proxy servers, and would just rather try to get my ISP to connect to a different city (if it's possible), or possibly get my ISP to do something else for me in order to allow me to get back onto these websites.
By the way, I sent my ISP an email explaining to them my situation. I haven't received a reply yet. Hopefully they'll be able to work something out for me.
Anyways, thanks. I hope I get a response soon.
