long story short, is l was fixing a couple of xboxes l was given and the tools l used to replace the drives required a power source, l used one of my external drives molex connections which worked well until l needed to disconnect it.. as the molex has welded itself into the hardware l used (lve tried everything short of destructive means to disconnect it as the piece of hardware isnt cheap).

the connector looks something like this:

which connects to my external drive imaged below:

lve made an album of images of the connector (as l asked elsewhere as well), its in essence a floppy drive 4pin connector but the shape is different and l need something that l dont have to butcher so l know it connects safely to what its supposed to.

Hi Timless,

The image you posted look very like audio connectors for cd/dvd sound. They only use 3 wires not 4. Is there any way to canabalize one?

uh looks like the right connector mark, but one end has to be 4pin molex.. you see, when l fixed the xbox the little piece of hardware l used (ck3 lite) has a molex connection (to power the drive) which is used in conjunction with other hardware however when l had finished using the ck3 lite and wanted to reconnect my external hard drive l couldnt remove the 4pin molex no matter what l did..

in essence the cable is correct in as far as it looks to have one of the ends l require, but the other needs to connect to a normal IDE hard drive in a caddy.. the only thing lm glad l didnt use was my system to power it otherwise ld still have this issue tho ld have some random circuit board floating around my system..
